2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:

• your name, stage name, age or date of birth, country, city and contact details;
• parent or legal guardian details and consent where a participant is under 18;
• entry information, performance category, title, description and uploaded video;
• images, voice, likeness and other information contained in a submitted performance;
• optional social-media profile details;
• communications, complaints, copyright queries and safeguarding information;
• winner verification, identity and payment information where necessary to award a prize; and
• technical information such as IP address, browser, device, security logs and basic usage data.

Please do not include private information such as a home address, school name, telephone number or identity document inside a performance video.

3. How and why we use information

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Children and young people

Participants may be under 18, so privacy and safeguarding are especially important to us. A parent or legal guardian must provide permission for an under-18 participant. We may ask for evidence of age, identity, relationship and consent before approving an entry, publishing a video or awarding a prize.

A parent or guardian may contact us to ask about a child’s information or request its removal. We may retain limited information where necessary for safeguarding, legal claims or compliance.

5. Publication and public information

Approved videos may be published on our official YouTube channel, website, app and social-media accounts. A participant’s name or stage name, location, performance details, image, voice and likeness may therefore become public and may be viewed or shared worldwide. Public platforms may process information under their own privacy policies.

Please consider this carefully before submitting. Contact us if you later want us to review or remove content. Removal from our channels may not remove copies already shared by other people, search engines or third-party platforms.

6. Who we share information with

We share information only where reasonably necessary, including with:

• authorised IIMT staff, reviewers and production or administration team members;
• website, form, hosting, storage, email, security and technical service providers;
• YouTube, Google and social-media platforms when approved content is published or linked;
• payment providers and professional advisers when administering prizes or legal matters;
• regulators, courts, law enforcement or other authorities where legally required; and
• a buyer or successor if our business or relevant assets are reorganised or transferred, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Access is limited to people who need the information for their role. Contact details submitted with entries are not displayed on the public leaderboard.

7. International transfers

It Is My Talent operates internationally. Information may be accessed by authorised team members or processed by service providers outside the United Kingdom, including in Nepal and the United States. Where UK data-protection law requires it, we use recognised safeguards such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.

Published videos and public profile information may be accessible worldwide.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary:

• incomplete or declined entry files are normally deleted within 90 days after the relevant monthly cycle;
• competition administration and contact records are normally kept for up to 24 months after the relevant competition or dispute ends;
• approved public content may remain published while the platform operates, subject to valid removal requests and our legal rights;
• winner, payment and financial records may be kept for up to six years where required for tax, accounting or legal purposes; and
• safeguarding, fraud, complaints or legal records may be kept longer where reasonably necessary.

Backups and platform copies may take a limited additional period to be securely overwritten.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls, secure connections, restricted administration access and service-provider safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please contact us promptly if you believe information has been exposed or misused.

10. Cookies, local storage and external links

Our website and app may use essential cookies, device storage or similar technology to provide security, remember necessary settings and make the service work. We will ask for consent before using non-essential cookies where the law requires it.

Links to YouTube, social media and other external services take you to services controlled by third parties. Their privacy and cookie policies apply when you use them.
